Vice Chairperson of NCSK visits ONGC
Vice Chairperson, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, Anjna Panwar visited ONGC Tripura asset on Thursday, during her three days visit to Tripura to take stock of socio-economic and living conditions of Safai Karamcharis and their dependents.
The meeting of Anjna Panwar with the Senior Officers of ONGC, Director SC Welfare, Pradip Reang, Dy. Director SC Welfare of Tripura government, Jayanta Dey, Rajashree Chakma,RPFC, Agartala, other representatives from state government. local Police agencies, representatives of collectives and Contractor as well as Safai Karamcharis engaged through contract was held at Asset Conference Hall.
ONGC , Tripura Asset through a press statement said that a warm welcome was extended by Krishna Kumar, Asset Manager to Anjna Panwar.
Asset Manager in his key address stated that ONGC’s ongoing initiatives are aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of Safai Karamcharis. He assured Vice Chairperson that the company is already ensuring statutory compliances. He also emphasized that Safai karamcharis play important role in keeping ONGC premises neat and clean. Further, Kumar also informed the house that ONGC takes care about welfare of all Safai Karamcharis and their dependents, it is also ensured that they are paid monthly wages in time, EPF and ESIC deductions are also taken care as per the provisions of the said Acts. He highlighted ONGC’s role in development of North East.
After the key address of Asset Manager, a detailed presentation was made by Hiteshwar Chundawat, CE(P) and Chanda Rana, Manager(HR)on ONGC activities in Tripura and various welfare programs initiated by ONGC for Safai Karamcharis. It was also informed to the house Fair Wage Policy exists in ONGC under which Safai Karamcharis are paid 35% extra over and above minimum wages along with Rs 50/- per day. Further financial assistance is also provided to all the secondary work-force including contractual Safai Karamcharis from ONGC Sahyog Trust for higher education of wards, marriage of dependent daughters and medical treatment of self and dependents. During the presentation, the facilities extended to all Safai Karamcharis together with all statutory compliances under various labour laws and CSR initiatives by was substantiated by N Anil Kujur, CGM(HR)-Head HR-ER ONGC Agartala.
Anjna Panwar in her address highlighted that National Commission for Safai Karamcharis strives to safeguard socio-economic condition and welfare of sanitation workers across the country and ways and means to connect these Safai Karamcharis with mainstream.
She commended initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose visionary leadership has led to upliftment of Safai Karamcharis with dignity and respect. Smt. Panwar also highlighted crucial role played by Safai Karamcharis during global pandemic, acknowledging their service to the Nation.
