Woman jumped from a 4th storey building in Agartala, died on spot

In a heartrending incident, a house wife committed suicide by jumping from the top roof of a four storey building in the busiest Bhagavan Thakur Choumohani area under East Agartala police station on Wednesday evening.
Police sources said that on Wednesday evening near the junction of Bhagavan Thakur Choumohani, all of sudden a woman jumped straight in the ground from a 4-storey standalone flat (Mahendra Apartment). Within minutes a large crowd and local shop owners rushed to the spot and they found that the woman, who jumped from the roof, had already died on the spot.
Local people immediately informed the police and firefighters and they rushed to the spot and shifted the body to GB Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said that the deceased woman was identified as Sampa Saha (50), wife of Subrata Saha, an employee of Account General (AG) office in Agartala who was staying at a flat of Mahendra Apartment with her husband.
Police added that preliminary investigation reveals that deceased woman was suffering from depression, but they will not say anything specifically over the reason of her suicide till the findings of forensic and autopsy reports.
