Young minds lauded International Literacy Day
Agartala Military Station under the aegis of Spear Corps commemorated ‘World Literacy Day’ on Friday (September 6), under the theme “Empowering Literacy for a Changing World” to contribute towards establishing the bedrock for sustainable and harmonious society.
To recognize the transformative power of literacy and foundational learning, a series of events encompassing ‘Inter School Debate Competition’ and screening of documentary film was organized at Agartala Military Station which witnessed the participation from two schools namely Army Public School, Agartala and Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Kunjaban.
Two teams comprising of three members each of class 7th and 8th took part in the competition with full enthusiasm and brainstormed on various important topics. The debate contributed in honing the critical thinking skills of the students and allowed them to inspect and scrutinize the different aspects of the subject matter they have been asked for. Army Public School, Agartala stands out as the winner of Inter School Debate Competition. Post-debate a documentary was screened for all the students to highlight the importance of education in the society.
The event underscores Indian Army’s commitment to community development and upliftment of the society by energizing young minds and reinstated the importance of education and learning in the development of cultured society.
