Youth’s body recovered in mysterious condition from bank of a canal

A body of a youth was recovered in mysterious condition from a bank of canal near Maharani-Jamtala Bridge under RK Pur police station of South Tripura district on Monday morning.

Police sources said that the deceased youth identified as Mathsingh Jamatia (22) on Sunday evening left his house in Dhakmura village under Killa police station and did not return back to house.

On Monday morning some local villagers of Maharani-Jamtala noticed a body of an unknown youth lying at the bank of the canal in mysterious condition and they informed the matter to police.

Police rushed to the spot and established his identity and informed his family members. Police added that there were no external injury marks on the body of the deceased youth and they also did not get any kind of drug in his pocket. Police brought the forensic team and after collecting all substantial evidence from the spot, shifted the body for autopsy.

Police also said that after getting the reports of the forensic team and autopsy, they can clearly say the nature of death whether it was murder or the youth died due to overdose of suspected drugs.
