Apple smartphones to be built in a new 300-acre Karnataka factory, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai says it will create 1 lakh jobs
New Delhi/Bengaluru: Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday said Apple smartphones will soon be built in a 300-acre factory in India tech hub Karnataka.
The factory might lead to creating 1 lakh jobs.

Speaking on the issue of job creation, Karnataka CM Basavaraj S Bommai tweeted: "Apple phones to be built in the state soon. Apart from creating about 100,000 jobs, it will create a whole lot of opportunities for Karnataka. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji, we will do our share to make India a $5 trillion economy by 2025."
Incidentally, Indian PM Narendra Modi met with Young Liu, the Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) in New Delhi.
