FM Nirmala Sitharaman and Geeta Gopinath meet at IMF-World Bank spring meetings in US
Washington: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with Gita Gopinath, the first deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on Wednesday at the IMF-World Bank spring meetings.

The IMF economist took to Twitter to share a picture with the FM. " Had a very good discussion with Finance Minister @nsitharaman at the IMF-World Bank spring meetings, to discuss the progress being made under India's G20 Presidency on debt issues and crypto related challenges,” her caption read.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on a week-long visit to the US to attend the Spring Meetings of IMF-WB and engage with the World Bank Development Committee and IMF Committee Plenaries.
India’s ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu received Sitharaman in Washington on April 9 for her week-long US visit to attend the annual spring meetings and led the G-20 countries in a series of intense interactions on various global issues.
The Spring Meetings is being attended by Finance Ministers and Central Bankers from across the world.
