Covid-19: India reports 5,880 fresh cases, hospitals to conduct mock drill
New Delhi/UNI: India recorded a single-day jump of 5,880 fresh Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 35,199 according to the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
The toll has risen to 5,30,979 with 12 more deaths- four each reported from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, and one each from Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan.
As many as 205 patients recovered from the disease during the past 24 hours. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease is 4.41 crore (4,41,96,318).
The recovery rate currently stands at 98.73 percent.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.91 percent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 3.67 percent.
Meanwhile, 92.28 cr Total Tests have been conducted so far; 85,076 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as per Ministry data.
Meanwhile, Delhi on Sunday logged 699 fresh Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 21.15 percent, according to data shared by the city government’s health department.
Amid rising Covid-19 cases, a nationwide mock drill to take stock of hospital preparedness will be held on April 10 and 11 in which both public and private facilities are expected to participate.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will also visit AIIMS, Jhajjar on Monday to oversee the mock drill.
