Himachal Pradesh: Tourists spot Manali, Dalhousie, Khajjair Narkanda, Kufri receive snowfall
Shimla: Tourist resort Manali Dalhousie, Khajjair, Narkanda and Kufri received major spell of snowfall as high reaches recorded moderate to heavy snowfall and down stream lashed windshowers.
State disaster Management authority Sudesh Mokta said 25 to 30 km thunder and Windstorm hit many places in the state. The gateway of Lahaul-Spiti district 13050 ft Rohtang pass recorded 30 cm ( two ft) snowfall, Rohtang Tunnel and Malana 30 cm(one ft) Jalorijot 20 cm, Solang 15 cm and Bersani and Kothi in Kullu recoded 14 cm and Manali four cm.
In Shimla district Chanshal had 25 cm, Churdhar 23, Khadrala in Shimla 10 cm,Khadapather and Shillaroo: 7.5 cm, Dodrakawar 5 cm, Narkanda and Kufri four cm, Khadki, Bagi and Chopal 3.7 cm,Theog 2 cm and Kotgarh 1.5 cm.
In Kinnaur Kalpa 2.7 cmand Chitkul 2.5 cm.In Lahaul-Spiti district Darcha and Sarchu 7 cm and Gondla 4 cm, In Mandi district Shikaridevi 20 cm, Kholi 15 mm and Jenjyali 2.5 cm.In Chamba district Jot and Khajjair 12.5 cm, Kilard 10cm, Salooni and Bharmar five cm and Dalhousie 2.5 cm, Badavangal of Kangra district 25 cm and Tirund 8.5 cm and Haripurdhar of Siramaur five cm.
Chamba had 13.5 mm rain Sunni(Shimla):10 mm, Jubbarhati, Dharmshala and Kangra eight mm, Bhuntar in Kullu 4.7 and Seibagh and Shimla 4.3 mm, JubberUna 2.8 mm and Nahan ( Sirmour) 1.7mm.Minimum temperature of Shimla was 1.4 degrees, Keylong minus 6.3 , Kaloa minus 2.6, Manali 0.4, Kufri minus 1.4, Dalhousie minus 0.4, Mandi 3, Solan and Kasauli 4, Dharmshala 5, Una 6, Chamba 5.9, Hamirpur 6.7 , Bilaspur 7 and Ksnga 8.9. degrees.
Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in the state and yellow alert of Fog and cold wave in isolated pockets of the state in the next 24 hrs. District administration Lahaul-Spiti sounded Advisory that after snowfall on south portal of Rohtang Tunnel Manali Leh National Highway (NH-003) is closed for all types of vehicles.
The Darcha Shinkula and Pangi Killar Highway is also closed for all types of vehicles (SH-26). Kaza road (NH-505) is already closed from Graphu to Kaza and Sumdo to Losar is open for four vehicles.
Including three National Highway 300 road are snow bound.In Lahaul Spiti 177 roads are closed as 48 roads are closed in Sub Division Udaipur, 86 in Lahaul and 43 in Spiti. In the district NH-505 Gramphu to Lossar, NH-03 Darcha to Sarchu is officially closed till summer 2023.
Around 12 roads are off in Chopal and Dodrakawar Subdivision of Shimla, Five roads are blocked in Chamba and four in Mandi and two in Kullu. Thunderstrom and snowfall also distrupted power supply in 487 Distribution Transformer Region including 180 DTR in Mandi, 124 in Kinnuar, 100 in Lahual Spiti and 62 in Chamba district.
