Kolkata: Despite slight rise in temperature, city wilts under cold
Kolkata: It's bone-chilling cold in the entire state, although the mercury has risen slightly in 24 hours, the overall winter mood remains.

Alipur Meteorological Department said the temperature will remain like this for the next few days. A cold weather warning has been issued in several districts of North Bengal. This winter innings will continue till the Gangasagar Mela.
In Kolkata, the temperature will remain within 15 degrees. Dense fog will prevail over North Bengal's Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar. Apart from this, two Dinajpur and Malda will also have dense fog.
The weather office has also said that the temperature will increase slightly from Thursday. However, it is normal for this time, that is, the temperature mercury will not reach 15 degrees. Besides, it is said that Makar Sankranti will also have this dry weather. On the other hand, cold will persist in North and South Bengal for the next forty-eight hours. After 48 hours the temperature will gradually increase slightly. But the mood of winter will remain.
The night temperature will drop slightly to 13 degrees from 13.2 degrees. The daytime temperature will increase slightly from 23.1 degrees to 25.4 degrees. There will be very light fog in the morning.
The regional Met department said there will be clear skies in the afternoon.
Although the weather will remain the same for the next 3 days, then the temperature may increase by 1 to 2 degrees. A cold weather warning has been issued in several districts of North Bengal, said the Meteorological Department.
