Odisha: Crocodile attacks woman in coastal Kendrapara, dies
Kendrapara: In the latest man-reptile conflict, a 45-year-old woman lost her life when a crocodile attacked her while she was fishing in a creek on Saturday.
Jamboo Marine police station IIC Paresh Mohanty said the Kausalya Mandal, of Kharanashi village under Jamboo Marine police station on Saturday, went to catch fish with some fellow villagers at nearby Naubadi jora.
While she was catching fish an estuarine crocodile pounced on her and dragged her into the middle of water bodies.
The locals later carried out a rescue and search operation and found the body of the woman floating on the river with multiple injuries.
The locals later retrieved the body from the river and handed it over to the Jamboo marine police. The body was later sent for autopsy, the IIC said.
