Struggling with constipation? Here’s how to make pooping easy again!
Trouble in pooping easily in the morning? You are not alone. There are a massive number of people who are plagued by constipation worldwide.
Most of them who suffer from constipation rely on laxatives as an immediate remedy but the permanent solution to the problem is often overlooked.
Holistic health nutritionist and diabetes educator Khushi Chhabra has shared an Instagram reel where she spoke about a way to get relief from constipation.
Chhabra says consuming a combo of Kiwi with skin, Chia seeds and Cinnamon power for three consecutive days will cure constipation.
She wrote on Instagram, "Together this trio hydrates your colon, feeds your gut bacteria, and improves bowel regularity in a natural way to reset your digestion without laxatives! Have this mix every morning on an empty stomach for 3 days straight, and you’ll notice the difference!
"But remember the key for this trick to work still lies in the basics that is making sure you hydrate yourself enough for this combo to work!"
Eminent dietitian Dr. Alka Phutela also advised the same combo but stressed on the lifestyle choices before getting into any kind of food combinations.
In a report by The Times of India, Dr. Phutela said drinking two-three litres of water daily, eating fibre-rich fruits and veggies in every meal, walking and managing stress are key to get rid of constipation.
She has also named a few combos: Prunes+CCF water (Cumin, Coriander, Fennel), Aloe Vera Juice+Pear, Papaya+Warm Lemon Water, Banana+Butter Milk on a daily basis.
Lifestyle coach Luke Coutinho has provided some lifestyle choices for the cure of constipation.
In his blog, Coutinho lists some of the key factors to cure constipation:
- Roughage: "Fiber adds bulk to the stool and acts as a natural broom that sweeps your colon clean."
- Hydration: "Waking up to a liter of water every morning is a simple yet powerful step for constipation relief."
- Movement: "Regular exercise — whether it’s walking, running, swimming, bodyweight training, or yoga twists — helps stimulate the digestive tract."
- Eat and poop at fixed times: "A routine trains your body for healthy bowel movements."
- Squat while pooping: "A full squat — as in traditional Indian toilets — relaxes the puborectal muscle and helps completely empty your bowels. If you’re using a Western toilet, raise your feet on a small stool to mimic this position."
