Open AI chief Sam Altman on Tuesday announced ChatGPT's latest image creator, which can generate recreations of Studio Ghibli art, is now available to every user for free, days after the trend went viral.

Social media users, ranging from celebrities to even diplomatic mission, have used the trend which has gripped the attention of internet users across the globe like a wildfire.

"Chatgpt image gen now rolled out to all free users!" Sam Altman posted on X.

There are usage limits, though ChatGPT itself doesn’t elaborate — saying only that free users have “limited access” to image generation, reported The Verge.

The image-generation feature was so far available to paid subscribers under the ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team plans.

Free users could only generate three images per day so far.

Before the announcement, Altman wrote on X: "We will not do anything silly like saying that you cant use our open model if your service has more than 700 million monthly active users."

"We want everyone to use it!" he said.

The roll-out of the tool began on March 26.

The image generator is powered by  OpenAI's GPT-4o model.
