The 2026 edition of Kolkata Comic Con 2026, presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena and powered by Crunchyroll, kicked off on Sunday at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre.
Fans thronged the venue in large numbers, many dressed as their favourite characters, bringing vibrant energy and enthusiasm to the convention floor.

Global Creators and Engaging Sessions
Internationally acclaimed Brazilian comic artist Rogê Antônio—known for his work on X-Men Red, Injustice: Year Zero, Carnage, and Deadpool—captivated audiences during the “Creators Across Borders” session. He shared insights into his creative journey and interacted with fans.

Day 1 also featured a Creator’s Corner session with Harsho Mohan Chattoraj, alongside special sessions by Alpha Comics and Amar Chitra Katha.

A special presentation by Warner Bros. celebrating Superman added to the excitement among superhero fans.

Cosplay Takes Centre Stage
Cosplay enthusiasts witnessed one of the biggest highlights of the event—the India qualifiers for the World Cosplay Summit. Winners will go on to represent India at the global finals in Nagoya.

The Kolkata Comic Con Cosplay Contest was also held, with winners taking home a cash prize of Rs. 30,000.

Gaming, Anime and Interactive Zones
The convention delivered an immersive entertainment experience with live gameplay, competitions, and interactive showcases.

The NODWIN Gaming Zone featured virtual and simulator gaming setups, while the Maruti Suzuki Arena Fan Experience Zone hosted reflex-based challenges.

Anime fans explored themed experiences inspired by SPY x Family and Suzume, while movie-themed zones celebrated Supergirl, Mortal Kombat II, and The Mummy.

Visitors also enjoyed a fulldome experience zone, racing simulators by Logitech, and a lively Just Dance booth.

Live Performances and Comedy
Entertainment continued throughout the day with live performances by Kai RJ, Geek Fruit, KY Collective, and MC Headshot.
The event also featured a stand-up comedy showcase by popular Kolkata comedians Sarnajit Bala, Shiladitya Chatterjee, and Vaibhav Sethia.

A Celebration of Creativity
Shefali Johnson, CEO of Comic Con India, highlighted Kolkata’s deep-rooted creative culture, calling the event “an extension of the city’s soul.”
