Historic shift at Hyundai India: Tarun Garg takes charge as first Indian CEO
Gurugram/IBNS: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Thursday announced that Tarun Garg has officially assumed charge as the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), effective January 1, 2026.
The appointment marks a historic milestone for HMIL, as Garg becomes the first Indian national to lead the company since its inception 29 years ago, underscoring Hyundai Motor Group’s confidence in Indian leadership and the country’s growing strategic importance in the global automotive landscape.
With over three decades of experience in the automotive industry, Garg is expected to play a key role in steering HMIL through its next phase of growth in the Indian market.
