India AI push: Infosys launches Topaz AI suite to accelerate SAP S/4HANA Cloud transformation

Bengaluru: IT services giant Infosys on Tuesday announced the rollout of Infosys Topaz, a new suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools aimed at accelerating business transformation journeys to SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Developed by German software firm SAP SE, SAP S/4HANA Cloud is a widely used platform that enables enterprises to manage and streamline operations.
Infosys’ new offering integrates this toolset with its AI-first suite, Topaz, and runs on Infosys Cobalt—its proprietary cloud services platform, Business Standard reported.
Infosys Topaz combines services, solutions, and platforms powered by generative AI to help organisations transition smoothly from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Roche and SAP hail collaboration
According to the report, Marc Béchet, Domain Lead ERP Platform & Services at Roche, described the collaboration as pivotal: “Partnering with Infosys and SAP on our strategic ASPIRE program is a game-changer for Roche. By harnessing the advanced capabilities of a digital core built on SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and comprehensive solutions together with AI technologies, we are building a simplified, harmonised, and standardised digital backbone that is transforming our business processes.”
Jan Bungert, Chief Revenue Officer for SAP Business AI at SAP SE, underscored the significance of AI: “Business AI is the biggest technology opportunity of the 21st century. The joint value proposition that Infosys brings in collaboration with SAP, will help enterprises realise the transformative power of SAP S/4HANA Cloud and Business AI through a guided approach – helping to turn AI proof-of-concepts into tangible business outcomes more quickly.”
AI-first transformation for enterprises
“With Infosys Topaz for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, enterprises have a unique opportunity to leverage the power of AI upfront in the transformation blueprint and leapfrog to an AI-first enterprise,” said Dinesh Rao, Executive Vice President and Chief Delivery Officer, Infosys, noting the sweeping impact of AI on modern businesses, according to the BS report.
Rao added that the AI suite will help companies migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Cloud “significantly fast track the adoption journey.”
A few weeks earlier, Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani had said at a public event that India was strongly placed in the global AI race and was now focusing on scaling national AI programs.
