Meta’s New AI smart glasses hit India on Dec 1. All you need to know
Meta on Tuesday announced that its new AI-powered smart glasses, developed in partnership with Oakley, will be launched in India on December 1.
According to the company’s website, the Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses introduce a new category of performance-focused wearable technology designed for athletes, sports enthusiasts, and everyday users. The collection became available for pre-orders on Sunglass Hut from November 24.
The smart glasses will be sold through Sunglass Hut outlets and leading eyewear retailers across India, with prices starting at ₹41,800.
Meta said the Oakley Meta HSTN model brings a “bold new dimension” to AI-enabled eyewear, featuring a fully integrated camera for hands-free photo and video capture, open-ear speakers, and IPX4 water resistance to support high-intensity outdoor and sports activities.
The device offers up to 8 hours of active battery life, 19 hours on standby, fast charging, and a charging case providing an additional 48 hours of power. It supports high-resolution 3K video recording, enabling users to document activities and “epic moments on the go.”
The glasses also integrate Meta AI, offering instant answers and real-time performance insights—such as surf conditions or wind analysis for golfers—directly through voice interaction.
Meta has added full Hindi language support, powered by Sarvam’s AI language tools. Users can enable Hindi in the Meta AI app settings to ask questions, capture content, control media, make calls, and access information entirely through voice commands in Hindi.
Meta further said it is working on a new feature that will allow users to make secure UPI QR-code payments directly from the Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses, expanding the device’s hands-free utility.
