Assamese actress Nandinee Kashyap arrested after car crash kills 21-year-old student
Guwahati/IBNS: Assamese actress Nandinee Kashyap was on Wednesday arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a 21-year-old student, media reports said.

Samiul Haque, an electrical engineering student, was on July 25 installing street lights when a car belonging to the actress hit him.
Samiul suffered brain injuries and multiple fractures.
He was first admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital from where the 21-year-old was shifted to Apollo Hospital after his health condition worsened.
Samiul succumbed to his injuries at Apollo Hospital on July 29 evening.
"We were not informed at the time the incident occurred. It was only the next morning that we received the information. Following that, we promptly initiated legal procedures and summoned Nandinee Kashyap for questioning.
"Although the victim’s family filed an FIR, the name of the accused was not mentioned, " said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Jayanta Sarathi Borah as quoted by The Assam Tribune.
Massive protests were held outside Apollo Hospital as locals alleged that Nandinee neither stopped her car nor checked on Samiul in the following days.
Later, Nandinee's father had reportedly visited Samiul in Apollo and the actress' mother expressed sorrow over the incident.
