Cabinet condemns Red Fort terror blast, reaffirms zero tolerance for terrorism
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday expressed profound grief and solidarity with the families of those killed in the terrorist car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10.
At the start of the meeting, the Cabinet observed a two-minute silence in honour of the victims of what it described as a “heinous and cowardly act” perpetrated by anti-national forces.
In a resolution passed unanimously, the Cabinet extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
It also commended the medical teams and emergency responders for their prompt action in saving lives and providing critical care to the victims.
“The Cabinet unequivocally condemns this dastardly act that has led to the loss of innocent lives,” the resolution stated, reaffirming India’s unwavering policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Cabinet also acknowledged global solidarity, noting the “statements of support” received from several governments and international partners in the wake of the tragedy.
Appreciating the timely and coordinated response of security agencies and citizens, the Cabinet lauded their courage, compassion, and dedication during the emergency.
It further directed investigators to pursue the probe with utmost urgency and professionalism so that those responsible- including the perpetrators, collaborators, and sponsors- are identified and brought to justice swiftly.
The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s steadfast resolve to safeguard every Indian life and its enduring commitment to national security.
