CBI files closure report in Sushant Singh Rajput case, gives clean chit to Rhea Chakraborty

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a closure report in the actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case, ending of its four-year-long probe, according to an NDTV report.
The Bollywood actor was found hanging in his Mumbai flat in Bandra on June 14, 2020, a tragedy that stunned fans and sparked multiple theories, leading to a high-profile investigation.
According to officials, the closure report is related to two cases—one based on allegations made by Rajput’s father against his then-girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, and another filed by Ms Chakraborty against Rajput’s family.
The CBI, which took over the case in August 2020, found no evidence suggesting that anyone compelled Rajput to die by suicide.
As a result, Chakraborty and her family have been cleared of all allegations.
A forensic team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had also concluded that Rajput’s death was due to suicide and ruled out murder.
