CBI recovers arms, ammo from Sandeshkhali house, NSG use remote operated robot and sniffer dogs to search vacant house
The National Security Guard on Friday used remote operated robot and two sniffer dogs while searching a vacant house at Sarberia in Sandeshkhali when they apprehended explosives after the CBI unearthed foreign-made weapons during an intensive search operation this morning, media reports said.
CBI called the bomb explosive squad of the NSG after recovering arms, ammunition and explosive from the vacant brick-built single-floor house situated nearly remote area where very few families reside surrounding fishing bheries, the area where arrested leader Sahjahan Sheikh village is situated, reported Indian news agency UNI.
Sources told UNI news agency that since the NSG has yet to ascertain the nature of explosives and their immediate impact the elite, security force are using the robots and sniffer dogs.
The entire area has been cordoned off.
The CBI is probing the attack on the Enforcement Directorate officials by Sahjahan supporters on January 5 following a Calcutta High Court order whilst searching unearthed arms and weapons from the vacant house, which is owned by one Abu Taheb Molla of Sarberia in Poll bound North 24-Parganas district.
When the report arrived the NSG continued to find out if any explosives were stored in the vacant house.
The search operation by the NSG was unprecedented in the state using remote-controlled robot, which is usually used in the terrorists based areas in the country where booby traps and other explosives are used against security forces or enemies, sources added.
They said the robot already was moved inside a nearby mud house for searching.
