Delhi blast: Images reveal how terror doctor used flour mill to extract ammonium nitrate for explosives
Delhi/IBNS: Dr Muzamil Shakeel, one of the doctors accused in the November 10 Delhi blast that killed 15 people, allegedly used a household flour mill to prepare chemicals for the explosives.
Investigators say Shakeel ground urea in the mill to achieve a finer texture and later used an electric device to break it down further into chemical components.
During interrogation, Shakeel is said to have confessed to using the flour mill to extract ammonium nitrate from urea and refine the material for explosive use.
Evidence gathered so far suggests he also helped move the explosives and arranged the transfer of the white Hyundai i20 that was handed over to suicide bomber Umar Nabi.
The November 10 explosion occurred soon after authorities uncovered an interstate “white-collar” terror network, leading to the discovery of a massive stockpile of explosives in Faridabad, Haryana.
