Delhi shocker! Safdarjung Hospital doctor raped by delivery agent who posed as Army officer
New Delhi/IBNS: In a second case of sexual assault against a doctor in recent times, a Delhi medic was allegedly raped by a delivery agent who posed as an Army officer, NDTV reported.
The victim, who works at Safdarjung Hospital in the national capital, was allegedly raped by one Aarav, who posed as a Lieutenent during his conversation with the doctor on Instagram.
After the two started chatting on Instagram, soon they exchanged phone numbers and switched their conversation to WhatsApp.
Aarav, who has now been arrested, revealed during interrogation that he had bought an Army uniform from a shop to deceive the medic.
He had claimed to have been posted to Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused, who is from Delhi's Chhatarpur, had even sent a photo in the fake uniform to the doctor.
Earlier this month, Aarav had arrived in Delhi, visited the doctor's house in Masjid Moth area, allegedly drugged her food during that meeting and raped her.
After regaining consciousness, the doctor filed a complaint with the police on October 16.
Days ago, a doctor in Maharashtra's Satara district committed suicide writing a death note on her palm.
She alleged to have been raped four times by Phaltan City Police Station sub-inspector (PSI) Gopal Badane while mentally and physically harassed by one other.
Badane, who was suspended in the wake of the incident, surrendered on Saturday evening.
The second accused Prashant Bankar, who was the son of the victim's landlord, was arrested earlier.
