Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya admitted to hospital with breathing troubles
Kolkata: Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, 79, was rushed to a private hospital in South Kolkata on Saturday after he complained about breathing problems.
According to a statement released by the hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment, the former CM was admitted to the medical facility with 'lower respiratory tract infection and Type II respiratory failure'.
The hospital said he was put on non-invasive ventilation, antibiotics, and other supportive management.
He is hemodynamically stable," read the statement issued by the hospital.
CPI(M) West Bengal state secretary Md Salim tweeted: "Not to be worried. For all those who are enquiring and expressing their concern over the health conditions of Com. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya."

Bhattacharya has been suffering from COPD and other old age-related ailments for quite some time.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor C V Ananda Bose visited Bhattacharya in the hospital.
Bhattacharya, a senior Communist leader, remained the Chief Minister between 2001-2011.
