The discussions covered trade and economic growth, defence and security, climate action and green energy, technology and innovation, as well as education and people-to-people ties.

According to a statement issued by the Indian government, both leaders looked forward to the early implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

Starmer and Modi also expressed satisfaction over the growing education partnership between the two countries. They welcomed recent developments involving the University of Liverpool's plans to establish a campus in Bengaluru, along with the University of York and the University of Bristol setting up campuses in Mumbai.
