G20 Summit to be held in Jammu and Kashmir; signaling positive outlook for the region
Jammu&Kashmir/IBNS: The G20 summit convenes in Jammu and Kashmir UT. The three-day summit will gather leaders representing 60% of the world's population, marking the first major international event in a region that has long been plagued by terrorism and violence.

Under the theme of India's G20 Presidency, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "One Earth, One Family, One Future," the summit will underscore the value of all life, including humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms, and their interconnectedness on the planet, reported Good Morning Kashmir.
Green Development, Climate Finance, Accelerated, Inclusive & Resilient Growth, Technological Transformation & Digital Public Infrastructure, and Women-led Development are among the top priorities of the present G20.
The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, integrated Jammu and Kashmir into the Union of India in August 2019 by abrogating Article 370 and 35-A.
Hosting the G20 meeting in Srinagar aims to showcase the rich geographic diversity of India to the outside world. In recent months, terrorist activities in Kashmir have significantly subsided, resulting in a record number of tourists visiting the Union Territory.
The Lt Governor Manoj Sinha's administration, with active support from the central government was very instrumental in the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
In preparation for the G20 summit, Srinagar is undergoing a major facelift, with several smart city projects already completed, and others nearing completion. The summer capital of Srinagar presents a new fresh look, akin to metropolitan cities in the country.
These developments signify a positive outlook for the region of Kashmir, as the government's focus on economic development and infrastructure improvement is expected to attract increased investment, social welfare, and stability in the region.
In March, the United Arab Emirates announced a $60 million project in Srinagar, further indicating the potential of the region's economic growth.
