The aircraft, carrying 104 passengers and six crew members, was flying at an altitude of around 17,000 feet when it was hit by lightning.
Nose of aircraft damaged
The lightning strike caused damage to the nose section of the aircraft.
Despite the incident, the flight landed safely in Lucknow, arriving eight minutes ahead of its scheduled time.
All passengers and crew members were reported safe.
Aircraft grounded after incident
Following the incident, the aircraft was grounded for inspection and will not be allowed to resume operations until it receives the required regulatory clearance.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the incident.
The aviation regulator will examine the aircraft and circumstances surrounding the lightning strike before determining whether it can return to service.
