Ireland: Two Indians die after their car hits a tree

At least two Indian nationals died after the car in which they were travelling hit a tree in Ireland's Co Carlow county on Friday.

The single-vehicle crash took place on the N80 in Leagh, Rathoe, at about 1.15am, reported The Irish Times.

The deceased individuals were identified as Cherekuri Suresh Chowdary and Chithoori Bhargav.

Two others, one man and another woman, both believed to be in their 20s, were injured in the mishap.

They were reportedly rushed to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“A black Audi A6 was travelling towards Carlow town when it traversed the road and hit a tree at Graiguenaspiddoge,” Supt Anthony Farrell from Carlow Garda station told The Irish Times.

Indian Embassy condoles

The Indian Embassy in Ireland expressed sadness over the death of two individuals in the road mishap.

"Embassy of India in Dublin conveys its deepest condolences on the sad demise of two Indian nationals Mr. Cherekuri Suresh Chowdary and Mr. Chithoori Bhargav in a car accident in Co. Carlow," read the X post issued by the Embassy.

"The Embassy Team is in touch with the family and friends of the deceased and also extending all possible support and assistance to two Indians nationals injured in the accident," the post said.
