Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress to support bill to control Delhi officers in Rajya Sabha
New Delhi/IBNS: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress is all set to support the Centre's bill to control officers and bureaucrats in Delhi, paving the way for it to clear the Rajya Sabha hurdle, where it does not enjoy a majority.
The YSR Congress Party has nine members in Rajya Sabha and 22 in Lok Sabha.
With the backing of YSR Congress Party members, the government can easily get its controversial Delhi bill through Rajya Sabha.
The central cabinet Tuesday cleared the bill to replace the ordinance that allows the Centre to take away the Delhi government's control over the posting and transfers of officers and bureaucrats in the national capital.
The bill is all set to be introduced in Parliament soon.
The YSR Congress Party has also decided to support the BJP-led government in Parliament on the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition.
The party's 22 MPs will add to the government's count on the opposition-sponsored no-confidence vote in Lok Sabha on the Manipur crisis.
