Jammu and Kashmir: Indian security forces bust terrorist hideout in Anantnag
Indian security forces on Monday busted a terrorist hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag region, police said.
Anantnag Police said the operation was conducted by Special Operations Group (SOG) Anantnag, Army’s 19 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and CRPF in the higher reaches of Sanglan forest.
The police posted on X: " SOG Anantnag, 19 RR & CRPF bust terrorist hideout in Sanglan Forest, Uttersoo!"
Security forces recovered 200 empty AK cartridges, two gas cylinders, one Chinese grenade, a night vision device (NVD), bedding, utensils and food packets from the hideout.
"Stay vigilant, report suspicious activity!" police posted on X.
Gun battle in Kathua
A girl was injured during a fierce gunbattle between terrorists and Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua region on Sunday.
The girl was taken to hospital for treatment.
Her condition is reportedly stable.
The terrorists managed to escape the spot after fierce gunbattle and a search operation is currently going on to nab them.
Earlier, an encounter erupted in Kathua's Hiranagar after three terrorists were spotted by the security forces near the India-Pakistan border, sources told India Today TV news channel.
According to reports, a search operation has been launched by teams from the Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police, the Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the forest area close to the international border at Hiranagar.
Jammu and Kashmir has often witnessed tension along the border over terrorist infiltration issues.
