KCR's daughter K Kavitha suspended from BRS for 'anti-party activities'
Hyderabad/IBNS: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao has suspended his daughter and Telangana lawmaker K Kavitha after she blamed senior leader T Harish Rao for the federal probe into her father, media reports said.
In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, BRS leaders Soma Bharat Kumar and T. Ravinder Rao said, "Party MLC Smt. K. Kavitha, in view of her future legal cases, inquiries, and the related issues concerning the future activities of the BRS Party, the party leadership has carefully considered the matter.
"Party President Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has taken the decision to suspend Smt. K. Kavitha from the party with immediate effect."
Kavitha on Monday openly accused her cousins- Harish Rao and J. Santosh Kumar- of corruption and conspiring with the Telangana government and the CBI to tarnish her father's (KCR’s) reputation.
She described them as "anacondas of corruption," marking her comments as especially provocative.
Her accusations came in the context of the CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project .
BRS leadership reportedly held late-night discussions at KCR’s farmhouse before deciding on the suspension, reflecting the gravity of the political challenge.
