Kerala nursing college horror: Five senior students arrested for torturing juniors, hanging dumbbells from private parts
A horrifying case of ragging came to light from a nursing college in Kerala's Kottayam region where first-year students were forced to strip naked and dumbbells were allegedly hung from their private parts.

Five students have been arrested for ragging juniors so far.
The incident came to light after students lodged a complaint with the police about the incident.
The arrested students were identified as Samuel Johnson, NS Jeeva, KP Rahul Raj, C Rijil Jith and Vivek NP.
According to the police, the group had been harassing first-year nursing students in the name of ragging since November 2024, reported India Today.
Three students lodged the complaint with the police after they were unable to bear the torture any more.
The accused, the police said, used to make cuts over the juniors’ bodies and then pour lotion on these cuts. When the victims cried out of pain, the accused would apply cream on their mouths and body parts, reported India Today.
The accused reportedly tortured the students with stationery items like compasses.
The college has suspended all five accused students.
Principal-in-charge, Dr. Lini Joseph told the news channel: "The parents called the class teacher to inform them about it. After receiving the complaint, a preliminary inspection was conducted and action was taken."
She said a committee would be formed for detailed probe into the incident.
"Decisions on further action against the students will be taken after that,” she said.
