Kolkata Metro successfully conducts first trial run on Sealdah-Esplanade route
Kolkata/IBNS: The first trial run of metro on Sealdah–Esplanade stretch (2.63 km) through the west-bound tunnel of Green Line in Kolkata was conducted successfully on Tuesday.

P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway and Chairman, Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL), other senior officers of Metro Railway and KMRCL were present in this trial run.
The General Manager was present in the Motorman's Cab during this trial run which started at 11.20 hrs from Sealdah Metro station.

The trial rake (MR 607) reached Esplanade Metro station at 11.31 hrs.
Reddy congratulated all for this successful trial run. He also held a meeting with the officers of Metro Railway and KMRCL after the trial run at Esplanade Metro station.
This stretch once commissioned would be a revolutionary step in providing a modern transport system to the people of Kolkata and suburbs to reach different parts of Kolkata and adjoining areas from Sealdah and Howrah.
