Republican Donald J Trump took oath as the 47th US President for a non-consecutive second term on Monday inside the historic Capitol Rotunda, scripting a maverick political comeback after being convicted of felonies.
Donald Trump became only the second President in US history, after Grover Cleveland in 1893, to return to power after being voted out of the White House.
Trump made history by replacing Joe Biden as the oldest President of the United States.
Taking oath as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump said the "golden age" of America has begun and the country will be "greater than ever before."
"The golden age of America begins right now. From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer during every single day of the Trump administration," Trump said amid massive applause and standing ovations.
