Maldivian Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef described meeting with Modi as 'productive'
Maldivian Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef on Saturday described his meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi as productive.
He told ANI: "We are very happy to welcome His Excellency (PM Modi), and it was very productive. It was very productive meeting."
He was speaking on the sidelines of the Maldives' 60th Independence Day celebrations.
Qasim Ibrahim, leader of the Jumhooree Party, described Modi as a 'dynamic person'.
"India-Maldives relations are very good. Prime Minister Modi is very, very good and very Dynamic and also very talented and very wise leader. I am very thankful for him and his wise decision. He is so good to us, to Maldivian people and also our country," he told ANI.
Modi concluded his two-day visit to the Maldives on Saturday.
He was visiting the nation to attend the 60th Independence Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour.

After concluding his visit to the country, Modi wrote on X: "As I conclude this productive visit to the Maldives, I extend my heartfelt thanks to President Muizzu, the Government and people of the Maldives for their warmth. I am deeply honoured to have witnessed the 60th Independence Day celebrations. The productive talks with President Muizzu will add significant energy to our bilateral relations."
