Mamata Banerjee suffered 'major injury' due to 'push from behind': Kolkata hospital
Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has suffered a "major injury" on her forehead due to a "push from behind" and received four stitches, stated state-run SSKM Hospital where he was admitted to last evening.
Dr. Manimoy Bandyopadhyay, the director of SSKM Hospital, said, "Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, reported to our hospital today around 07:30 pm with a history of fall within the vicinity of her home due to some push from behind.
"She had a cerebral concussion and had a sharp cut over her forehead and nose which was bleeding profusely."

The news broke last evening when the Chief Minister's party Trinamool Congress (TMC) released a few pictures on X handle where the 69-year-old politician was seen lying on hospital bed with blood stains on her forehead and nose.
After receiving four stitches and some tests, Mamata, who goes through a packed schedule and particularly before the Lok Sabha elections, decided to return to her South Kolkata residence in Kalighat.
The Chief Minister was flanked by her family members including her nephew and TMC national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee.
After the news broke out, several top politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished for her speedy recovery.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Sukanta Majumdar wished speedy recovery of the Chief Minister. Majumdar wrote, "Wishing CM @MamataOfficial a speedy recovery. Our prayers are with her for a quick return to good health..."

Wishing a speedy recovery of the Chief Minister, West Bengal
This is the second time in a few months' time Mamata met with an injury. In January, she suffered a minor injury on her head while she was returning to Kolkata from Burdwan.
She had suffered the injury after a car reportedly entered into her convoy prompting the driver of her vehicle to put a sudden brake.
