Modi calls Parliament's monsoon session 'victory celebration'; cites Op. Sindoor, ISS, economy and fight against Naxalism
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called the monsoon session of Parliament "a victory celebration" highlighting Operation Sindoor, India's successful mission to space, economy and fight against Naxalism.
Addressing the media in Parliament premises, Modi this morning hailed the Indian Armed Forces' busting of nine terrorist camps in Pakistan during the four-day military conflict against India.
While the Opposition is gearing up to corner the Modi government on US President Donald Trump's 'ceasefire' claims, the Prime Minister said several countries are drawn towards the Army's 'Made in India ' weapons.
"This monsoon session is a victory celebration. The entire world has witnessed the strength and capability of the Indians Armed Forces.
"In Operation Sindoor, the Army achieved the target one hundred percent and hit the terrorist camps within 22 minutes. The world has also been attracted towards the new form of the 'Made in India' strength of our Armed Forces," the Prime Minister said.
Modi has also lauded the security forces for their fight against Naxalism and Maoism, which Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed will be over by March 2026.
"The security forces are confidently progressing towards uprooting Naxalism and Maoism from the country at a fast pace. We are proud to announce that several districts in the country have already become free of Naxalism.
"We are proud of the Constitution's victory over violence. The 'red corridors' are changing into 'green growth zones'," Modi said.

Modi has highlighted India becoming the fourth largest economy in the world as well as the World Bank's report on the South Asian country's extreme poverty rate's sharp decline from 27.1% in 2011-12 to 5.3% in 2022-23.
"The country's economy, which was 10th in the world in 2014, is now racing to become the third largest economy in the world," the Prime Minister said.
"The world organisations have acknowledged the rising of 25 crore poor from poverty. Before 2014, the inflation rate used to be in double digits but has come down to around 2 percent. It has become a relief for common people," he added.
Modi said Axiom 4 or Mission 'Akash Ganga', which is the first firm step for India's Gaganyaan human space flight mission, is a proud moment for the countrymen.
"The hoisting of India's flag at the International Space Station for the first time is a moment of pride for the countrymen. The mission has remained successful in creating new passion for space, technology and innovation.
"All MPs across Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will glorify this feat together and it will give inspiration on other missions in future," he said.
The Prime Minister earlier this month welcomed Shubhanshu Shukla, who was one of the astronauts to travel to the ISS, on his return to the Earth.
The monsoon session, which will have 21 sittings, will conclude on August 21.
