Modi is the heart of Delhi: Amit Shah after BJP sweeps AAP out of national capital
New Delhi/IBNS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) out of Delhi in the February 5 assembly elections held in the national capital.
In a long post on X, Shah said, "Modi in the heart of Delhi… The people of Delhi have worked to make Delhi Aapda-free by destroying the 'Sheeshmahal' of lies, deceit and corruption.
"Delhi has taught such a lesson to those who break promises that it will set an example for those who make false promises to the public across the country. This is the beginning of a new era of development and trust in Delhi."

Shah added, "The rule of lies has ended in Delhi... This is the defeat of arrogance and anarchy. This is a victory of 'Modi ki Guarantee' and the faith of Delhiites in Modiji's vision of development.
"Heartfelt gratitude to the people of Delhi for this massive mandate. Under the leadership of Modiji, BJP is determined to fulfill all its promises and make Delhi the number 1 capital of the world."

"Delhiites have shown that the public cannot be mislead by repeated false promises. The public has responded to the dirty Yamuna, dirty drinking water, broken roads, overflowing sewers and liquor shops open in every street with their votes... Be it the respect for women, the self-respect of unauthorized colony residents or the immense possibilities of self-employment, Delhi will now become an ideal capital under the leadership of Modiji."

As per the trends of the Delhi poll results, the BJP is leading in 48 seats paving way for its return to power after 27 years.
The AAP, which had won 62 out of 70 seats, is lagging behind with only 22.
On a day AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia lost from New Delhi and Jangpura respectively, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was the one to save the party's grace winning from Kalkaji by 900 votes.
