Mylavaram YSRCP MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad joins TDP in Hyderabad
Hyderabad/UNI: In a significant blow to the YSRCP, Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad officially joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in a ceremony attended by TDP National President and former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at his residence on Saturday.
Krishna Prasad's defection to the Telugu Desam Party marked a notable shift, with a substantial number of supporters accompanying him, including one Mandal Praja Parishad, two MPPs, two vice MPPs, 12 Sarpanches, six MPTC members, seven Society presidents, two Mandal Party presidents, and four councillors from his constituency.
Chandrababu Naidu warmly welcomed Krishna Prasad and his supporters into the TDP, highlighting the growing strength of the party.
During the media interaction, Krishna Prasad underscored the significance of welfare and development for societal progress.
He commended Chandrababu Naidu's leadership, asserting that Naidu possesses the capacity to propel Andhra Pradesh towards development, attract industries, and create employment opportunities for the youth.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the YSRCP government, Krishna Prasad conveyed his disappointment at the lack of recognition and funding for the development of Mylavaram Constituency during his tenure with the YSRCP.
Despite submitting numerous requisitions, he claimed that not a single rupee was allocated for the constituency's development.
Driven by a commitment to serve his constituents and contribute to the growth of Andhra Pradesh, Krishna Prasad made the strategic decision to join the TDP.
"I am dedicated to contributing to the reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu," he affirmed.
