Operation Sindhu: Jaishankar thanks Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi for ensuring safe evacuation of Indians
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi when he thanked him for ensuring the safe evacuation of Indian nationals.

Jaishankar wrote on X: "Spoke to FM @araghchi of Iran this afternoon." "Appreciate his sharing Iran’s perspective and thinking in the current complex situation," he said.
The Indian Minister further wrote: " Thanked him for facilitating the safe evacuation of Indian nationals. "
He spoke with the Iranian leaders just hours after MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said 173 Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi from Iran in a special evacuation plane from Yemen.
Jaiswal wrote on X: "A special evacuation flight from Yerevan, Armenia landed in New Delhi at 22:30 hrs on 26th June, bringing home 173 Indian nationals from Iran."

Jaiswal said as part of the ongoing Operation Sindhu, a total of 4415 Indian nationals (3597 from Iran and 818 from Israel) have been evacuated so far using 19 special evacuation flights, including 3 IAF aircraft.
He further said: "14 OCI card-holders, 9 Nepali nationals, 4 Sri Lankan nationals and 1 Iranian spouse of an Indian national were also evacuated from Iran."
India recently announced launching 'Operation Sindhu' to evacuate Indian nationals from Iran as the Persian Gulf nation is engaged in a conflict with Israel.
The two countries reached a ceasefire after 12-day war.
