PM Modi to meet Saudi Crown Prince in Delhi today
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will discuss trade, economy, defence and cultural cooperation in a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud here on Monday.
The Saudi Crown Prince is in India for a three-day tour which began with the G20 Summit, which concluded on Sunday.
In the meeting, which will be held at Hyderabad House, Modi and Mohammed bin Salman will co-chair the First Leaders' Meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council.
Strategic Partnership Council is an agreement which was signed between the two nations Riyadh in 2019.
The two leaders are also expected to discuss other aspects of bilateral relations including political, security, social et al.
Modi announces India-Middle East-Europe corridor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) with India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the European Union, France, Italy, Germany and the US as its members.
The corridor will provide a new direction to connectivity and sustainable development of the entire world, said PM Modi
In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of physical, digital, and financial connectivity. He said that IMEC would help promote economic integration between India and Europe.
"Today we all have reached an important and historic partnership. In the coming times, it will be a major medium of economic integration between India, West Asia and Europe," he said.
