The attack took place while the CJP was holding a demonstration at Shaheed Smarak to protest alleged paper leaks, unemployment and broader issues in the education sector.

Videos circulating on social media showed Dipke being carried on the shoulders of supporters when a man allegedly grabbed a cloth around his neck and pulled him.

The footage further showed Dipke being slapped and hit repeatedly by at least two individuals before they were overpowered by his supporters.

Protest part of nationwide campaign seeking Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation

The Jaipur protest was part of a series of demonstrations announced by the CJP after a protest in Delhi on June 6.

The organisation had said it would stage protests across the country unless Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned over the NEET and other examination paper leaks, as well as what it described as systemic shortcomings in the education sector.

Originally launched as a satirical political movement, the CJP has recently organised protests focused on education and employment-related concerns.

Dipke vows to continue peaceful protests

Reacting to the assault, Dipke said the attack would not deter the organisation from continuing its campaign.

"Physical attacks are a sign of fear and cowardice. We will continue to raise our voices peacefully. I am a follower of Gandhi and Ambedkar, and I will keep fighting this battle with peace and love," he wrote on X, adding that Pradhan "must resign".

Dipke has repeatedly maintained that the movement's protests would remain non-violent despite growing public attention around its demonstrations.

Police investigating motive behind attack

Police officials said six people have been detained and are being questioned at the Vidhayakpuri police station.

Authorities also noted that the CJP had not received permission to hold the protest until late Sunday night.

A conditional approval was subsequently granted, with one of the conditions being that participation would not exceed 800 people.

The investigation into the assault and the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
