Six die, over 50 injured after bamboo platform for devotees collapses at religious event in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow/IBNS: Six people have died and over 50 others injured after a bamboo platform collapsed during a religious event in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat, media reports said.

As per police, the Jain community had organised a Laddoo Mahotsav where hundreds of people had rushed to offer laddoo.
The bamboo platform, which was erected for the devotees, collapsed, failing to resist the weight of the people.
Major accident during the Lord Aadinath "Nirvan Ladoo event" in Baraut area in UP's Baghpat district. Several feared trapped and injured after a makeshift wooden log structure at Manstambh premises collapsed.

The injured were rushed to the hospital.
People who suffered minor injuries were sent home after administering first-aid while those with major injuries were treated.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath posted on X, "The loss of life in the unfortunate incident in Baghpat district is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved family. District administration officials have been instructed to carry out relief operations expeditiously and provide proper treatment to the injured.
"I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured."
