'Time is money': Bengaluru man sues PVR-Inox for wasting his time with ads in cinema hall, wins case
Bengaluru/IBNS: A Bengaluru man has won the case which he filed against PVR-Inox and Book My Show for wasting his time by running lengthy commercials at a cinema hall, media reports said.

Abhishek MR, 30, had booked three tickets for a 4:05 pm show to watch Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur in 2023.
He had planned to resume work after 6:30 pm when the film was expected to be over.
However, the film started at 4:30 pm after several commercials and trailers of other films were streamed, wasting "nearly 30 minutes of the time".
Abhishek filed a complaint alleging he could not attend other scheduled works and also suffered losses that can't be measured in terms of money.
The consumer court, which asserted "time is considered as money", directed PVR-Inox to pay Rs. 50,000 for the unfair trade practice and wasting time of the complainant, Rs. 10,000 for filing the complaint and other reliefs and Rs. 5,000 for mental agony to the Abhishek as compensation.
In addition, PVR-Inox has been instructed to pay a penalty of Rs. 1 lakh.
The court has, however, said BookMyShow was not liable to pay any compensation as it had no control over the streaming time of advertisements.
