Tripura Congress to sit on silent protest to support Rahul Gandhi
Agartala/UNI: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to hold a 7-hour Maun Satyagraha (Silent Protest) at Gandhighat here on Wednesday, protesting the move of the central government in support of Rahul Gandhi, TPCC President, Asish Kumar Saha said on Monday.
Asish Kumar Saha, said that as per the decision of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the party here would organise the protest to stop the harassment of Rahul Gandhi.
Gandhi has consistently been questioned for exposing the unholy relationship between the Prime Minister and Adani on various platforms, said Saha on Monday.
The courageous pursuit of Gandhi has forced the Prime Minister and the ruling BJP to resort to crooked measures leading to his conviction and disqualification from membership in the Lok Sabha.
"It is high time that we stand together and reiterate that Rahul Gandhi is not alone and that millions of congressmen and crores of Indians irrespective of their political affiliations, are with him in this fight for truth and justice beyond politics.
"The country under Modi’s rule became complete chaos, democracy was throttled, and the personal liberty of Indian has disturbed; therefore, a united voice against Modi and the BJP was raised everywhere," Saha alleged.
Saha said that in solidarity with Rahul Gandhi and in support of his fearless fight, all the party MLAs, block and district representatives, leaders of all frontal organisations, departments, and cells, party workers, and supporters would sit silently at Gandhighat from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
