West Bengal: Three people die after water tank falls on them in Burdwan Railway Station
At least three people were killed and 20 others injured when a large overhead water tank fell on them at a platform in West Bengal's Burdwan Railway station on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses told UNI news agency nearly 54,000 gallon capacity water tank suddenly fell on the waiting 23 passengers on the combined platforms 2 and 3.
They are waiting to catch local trains.
Those injured were immediately evacuated to the Burdwam Medical College and Hospital where three persons succumbed to their injuries.
The Hospital Superintendent confirmed three deaths.
Hospital sources told UNI five are in critical condition.
The accident happened around 1230 hours, Railway sources said.
