Bollywood meets politics: Parineeti Chopra says yes to AAP MP Raghav Chadha!
On a delightful Saturday evening at Kapurthala House, Punjab Government’s official residence, Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Punjab’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha announced their engagement. The intimate ceremony was graced by 150 close friends and family members.
Among the invitees was the chief of Akal Takht, alongside prominent political figures such as Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab’s CM Bhagwant Mann, Congress’s P Chidambaram, TMC’s Derek O’Brien, and Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Aaditya Thackeray. The star-studded event also saw Parineeti’s cousin, globally acclaimed actress Priyanka Chopra, in attendance.
Following the engagement, Parineeti took to Instagram, sharing several pictures to break the news to her followers. Her caption, “Everything I prayed for… I said yes!” marked the first public acknowledgement of her relationship with Raghav. Raghav looked dapper in an ivory achkan from his uncle and designer Pawan Sachdeva’s collection, while Parineeti was resplendent in a pastel peach dress designed by Manish Malhotra.
The evening’s proceedings, beginning around 5:30 pm, featured a traditional ‘path’ and ‘ardas’. The ring exchange ceremony followed, observing Sikh customs. It’s worth noting that all mobile devices belonging to the event management team were handed over at the entrance to prevent unauthorized leaks of pictures or videos from the event.
Speculation about Parineeti and Raghav’s impending nuptials was sparked when the two were spotted together at a Mumbai restaurant earlier in the year. This engagement marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
