BTS leader RM suffers injury ahead of Seoul concert
RM, leader of BTS, has suffered an ankle injury just two days ahead of the group’s highly anticipated concert in Seoul, which is set to mark their full-group comeback after a four-year hiatus.
According to a statement from BigHit Music, the rapper sustained the injury during rehearsals on Thursday and was taken to hospital for examination and treatment, as reported by Yonhap News Agency.
Doctors diagnosed him with ligament damage and inflammation, advising him to wear a leg cast and limit movement for at least two weeks.
The injury comes just days before BTS is scheduled to hold a free outdoor concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday at Gwanghwamun Square, celebrating the release of their fifth full-length album, Arirang.
Despite the injury, RM has expressed a strong desire to participate in the performance.
“Prioritising the medical team’s advice and to prevent further injury, we have made the difficult decision, together with the artist, to limit RM’s movement during the show,” the agency said.
BTS officially unveiled Arirang on Friday, marking their return as a full group after four years.
