Deepika Padukone turns 40, unveils 'passion project' to mentor aspiring technicians
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone marked her 40th birthday on Monday by announcing her “passion project” OnSet, an initiative aimed at providing a platform for aspiring technicians seeking to build careers in Indian film, television and advertising.
The programme, Deepika said, will offer young talent an opportunity to “work with or create with the best in the business”.
“I am beyond thrilled to launch my passion project — OnSet — an experiential learning programme for technicians across various departments wanting to build a career in Indian film, television and advertising,” Deepika wrote in an Instagram post.
She added, “Visit onsetprogram.in, send in your work, tell us about yourself and stand a chance to work with or create with the best in the business. I cannot wait to welcome the next generation of creative talent on set!”
Deepika, who has headlined several Bollywood blockbusters over nearly two decades, expanded her professional footprint beyond cinema years ago with the launch of The Live Love Laugh Foundation, which focuses on mental health awareness.
She later ventured into entrepreneurship with the launch of her luxury skincare brand 82°E.
On the film front, Deepika, who took a break from work after embracing motherhood in 2024, is gearing up for her next release King, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
The Siddharth Anand directorial will mark Deepika’s sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan and will also see Khan’s daughter Suhana making her theatrical debut.
