Mumbai/IBNS: The Dubai leg of shooting for King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been cancelled amid the ongoing Iran war, Mid-Day reported.
A large-scale desert action sequence was originally planned in Dubai. However, escalating tensions in West Asia forced the makers to shift the shoot to Mumbai.
The production team had already secured permissions for a week-long schedule beginning April 9, but the plan was dropped due to safety concerns for the cast and crew.
The sequence will now be recreated at a studio in Mumbai, where the production design team has built an artificial desert set in Vile Parle.

The film’s first look was unveiled by director Siddharth Anand on November 2 last year, marking Khan’s 60th birthday.
The high-octane action entertainer also stars Deepika Padukone, reuniting with Khan for the sixth time. The film additionally features Suhana Khan—who debuted in The Archies—and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles.
King is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
