My deepest apologies: Shah Rukh Khan breaks tradition, misses birthday meetup at Mannat
November 2 was not an ordinary Sunday with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turning 60, leaving his millions of fans across the globe thrilled.
People from across the globe took to social media to post their birthday greetings for their beloved matinee idol.
However, fan in Mumbai, who had assembled in front of Mannat, Khan's residence in the city, were left disappointed since the superstar skipped his annual ritual of waving his followers from the balcony on his birthday.
Khan posted his 'apology' message on X, where he said: "Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me."
"My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues," he said.
"Thank you for understanding and believe me… I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all," he said.
According to media reports, Mannat is undergoing renovation to force authorities to prevent Khan from meeting his fans from the balcony.
